About us

The people behind Empractica.

We built Empractica for CEOs who have done the reading and tried the tools, and now want to put AI to real use in their businesses. We teach, we demonstrate, and we work through it with you, alongside fellow CEOs.

The founders

Meet Scott and James.

Scott Lowe

Co-founder

Scott Lowe is co-founder of Empractica, where he and James Green teach practical AI to business audiences.

He builds with AI daily and writes to help leaders understand what it can actually do and what it can’t. Scott also coaches and advises CEOs and founders of established small companies, drawing on years of running peer advisory groups.

Earlier, he founded ActualTech Media, a B2B technology marketing company, and led it for a decade before its acquisition, following stints as a college CIO and higher education technology consultant. He serves on his local school board and chairs the board of United Credit Union. He lives in Fulton, Missouri, with his wife, Amy, and their two kids.

James Green

Co-founder

James Green is an AI-obsessed entrepreneur from Des Moines, Iowa.

He and his partners built ActualTech Media, a marketing firm serving enterprise IT companies, which they sold to Future PLC in 2022. His IT fluency made him an unusually early adopter when modern AI arrived in 2023.

Today, as co-founder of Empractica, James and his ragtag crew of AI agents teach business owners and leaders how to actually deploy AI, not just evaluate it.

James is proud to be a husband to Carly and father to four children. His strong sense of community extends to his faith, where he volunteers as a musician and Bible teacher at his church.

Why we built it

The gap between seeing AI and using it.

We kept watching capable leaders do the reading and try the tools, while their businesses struggled to put AI to use.

Empractica is the bridge. We teach an idea or demonstrate it in action, then lead an exercise that helps you work out how it applies to your team, workflows, and decisions. Then you compare notes with CEOs doing the same.

Let’s put AI to work on your team’s real work.

Tell us what’s slowing your team down. We’ll build a program around your people, your processes and the tools you already pay for.
